80 books
The most I’ve ever read in one year!
Here are my top 4 in no particular order:
Wolfsong by TJ Klune
A fantastical love story of deep bonds, wolves, small towns, fate, magic, and the meaning of family. I want to live in TJ Klune’s fictional worlds, the way he writes is absolute magic.
Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid
TJR allows us to fall in love with the tough, confident, and seemingly harsh Carrie Soto as we follow her through her childhood, her incredibly impressive career, and her nerve wracking and high stakes come back in the world of tennis. Makes you a fan of tennis and a fan of Carrie as she navigates how to balance tennis with her life when her life is seemingly all about tennis.
One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
One of the most detailed and interesting dark fantasy novels I’ve ever read. A town, taken over by a magical and maddening mist, must work to unite the cards: the powerful dark objects created to lift the mist. But the town and it’s people have corrupt magical secrets of their own. Gillig’s meticulous and thorough magic system sucks you in from the very first page.
The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn
A thrilling and gripping piece of historical fiction focusing on a young Soviet mother who became one the World War II’s deadliest female snipers. Fantastic narrative and a perspective I had never considered until I read it.
